Day 1: Marrakech – Zagora (7-hour drive)
After a morning pick-up at the riad, you’ll cross the High Atlas towards Ouarzazate, with a stop for lunch at your leisure. Then on to the Agdez oasis, crossing the Dràa valley lined with palm and date trees. You’ll have the chance to admire the fortified kasbahs along the way. On arrival in Zagora, you’ll join a camel caravan for an hour-long camel ride over the sand dunes. You’ll be able to watch the sunset and its magnificent hue on the desert sand. Afterwards, you’ll be transferred to your camp in the Sahara desert, where you can explore the surrounding landscape. Dinner will be served under the stars, accompanied by traditional music around a campfire.
Day 2: Zagora – Marrakech (7-hour drive)
Wake up early for a magical desert sunrise (optional). After breakfast, you’ll hop back on the camels to return to the main road. A minibus awaits you for a scenic drive to the village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous as a film location, you’ll have the chance to explore the kasbah and take photos. After some free time for lunch, you’ll take the picturesque road back to Marrakech, with a scheduled departure time of around 6.00 pm.
